Panic Attack Medicine

These medicines come in various forms. Some of the victims of panic attack may find relief by using the different household methods to stop the commencement of these attacks. However, ones who are not able to get relief may be required to use the Panic attack medicines. In the present era, there is nothing to be worried about these panic attacks because of the availability of panic attack medicines. Moreover, the combination of these medications along with some therapy helps in the controlling of internal bodily sensations, which can relieve from the massive attacks quite easily.

There is a common perception that one can escape from these disorders once they are relaxing or sleeping. But, there have been various cases which have proven these perceptions wrong. For instance, some of the sufferers were engulfed by this when they were either sleeping or were in the jolliest mood. These attacks either occur once or occur multiple times. This is when an appropriate panic attack medicine is required.

Going by the famous saying, “Prevention is better than cure”, one can decrease the chances of being a victim to such disorders by just changing his/her lifestyle by a small fraction. Nevertheless, if these attacks are left without any proper treatment, they can be the reason for various major disorders, too.

The available medicines can increase the patient’s motivation level to make him/her ready to face the attack. With regard to this, the best medication is the one that stops the attack itself from originating.

According to the latest researches in the field of panic disorder medicines, it is suggested to intake benzodiazepines, some anti-depressants and the latest selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

Clonazepam (Klonopin) and Xanax or Alprazolam are the most commonly used benzodiazepines for such attacks. They can block the attacks more rapidly than the Anti-depressants.  The time taken by the benzodiazepines is usually between one to two weeks, and has lesser side effects as compared to the anti-depressants.  Alprazolam can work faster than the clonazepam, hence, it has stronger withdrawals effect too. According to a survey on these panic attacks, it has been found that 30% of the patients using Alprazolam got better on a dose of 4 to 6 mg per day and 43% of them on a dose less than 4 mg per day, improved after a period of eight weeks.

Alprazolam is faster than the other anti-depressants available. Thus, it is the perfect medication to have just prior to the panic-provoking events.

These are not the only medicines available. There are a number of other medicines available. For example, beta-blockers like atenolol, propanolol, tricyclic antidepressants such as desipramine, imipramine etc, mono amine oxidase inhibitors such as phenelzine, anticonvulsant like Valproate and some mild tranquilizers such as buspirone etc.

A medical practitioner must supervise the intake of the above listed medicines. so, make sure that, they are prescribed by a medical practitioner before taking these medicines.

Thus, we conclude that the panic attacks are curable. Whatever the reason may be: depression, social phobia, or any other reason.
